Crock pots and RVs? Who knew?
On those long days on the road or out seeing the sights, dinner can often present a challenge. A necessity of RV life is making things easier. So, try making dinner ahead and letting it cook while you drive or while you’re out enjoying other activities.
A crock pot is a terrific idea for RVers, and becoming a very popular cooking option for travelers. You can even cut up and pre-prepare the ingredients ahead of time to shorten the on-the-road prep time. Cut everything up, measure herbs and spices, and store it all in individual Ziploc bags. When you’re ready, put dinner together in the crock pot and put the pot in the sink while you’re driving or out for the day. Voila! Dinner is ready when you are.
There are special crock pot models with locking lids and cookbooks that are perfect for RVers.
- ust go online and search RVs and crock pots. The programmable “cook & carry” models are great.
- Check out this cookbook: “How to Prepare Dinner in Your RV While Going Down the Road”.

Crock pot apple cider recipe
Ingredients:
2 quarts apple cider
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp. ground ginger
1 orange, unpeeled and cut into wedges
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole cloves
Small square of cheesecloth
Tie up the cinnamon sticks and cloves in the cheesecloth. Add cider and put all the other ingredients in the crock pot. Cover and simmer on low for 3 hours. Remove the cheesecloth bundle and orange wedges before serving.
And now.... a word from our customers
"Our 22-foot Minnie Winnie needed some service and new shocks. We rocked and rolled down to San Jose from the coast in the worst storm and wind all year. Whew!
Greeted with smiling faces and very thorough detail. Savio and the crew called with estimates and choices before the work was started. That was greatly appreciated. We had a time limit and they were spot on with the finish of the work.
It is so refreshing to have a very expert, attentive and reliable service. We will happily return knowing our wishes and rig will be attended to like it were their own. Found out they have many parts for RV's and can order most anything for you.
Got a donut too!"
