As summer approaches, get ready to “hit the road!”

Awnings.

With summer approaching, it’s time to get ready for those hot sunny vacation days. Get the awnings you need to keep you and your coach cool.

Check your awnings.

    • Is the fabric coming apart where they attach to the coach or do they have holes or tears?
    • Is the fabric starting to look weathered or brittle?
    • If one is torn, have you checked your others?

    Torn Awning

    New colors and prints!

Add a little “pizzazz” to your RV. Come in to check out the new awning colors and prints now available.

    • Choose from the standard colors for replacements, OR
    • Select other colors, color fades and even checkered patterns. You’ll be surprised to see all the new possibilities for adding “personality” to your coach.

      Metal wraps (weather seals)

Metal wraps cover your awnings when they’re rolled up so that they are protected from dirt and the elements, and they also prevent flapping while driving.

    • If your coach already has awnings, but not metal wraps, consider installing them for added protection.
    • Wraps come in colors that complement your coach.

Slide Toppers

Don’t forget the slide toppers, those important sheets of material that cover your slideouts. While they’re keeping debris off your slideout roof and out of the interior of your RV, they can also be damaged by wind, rain, sun, and wear.

  • It’s important to keep slideouts covered when extended. To do that, use a slide topper over all slideouts on your coach.
  • Without a slide topper, anything that falls on the slideout will end up inside your RV when the slideout is stored. Leaves, pinecones, tree branches, rain, snow, etc. must be swept off if you don’t want to bring it inside.
  • Also, without a slide topper, the seals and gaskets are directly exposed to the elements (sun, wind, rain, snow), UV rays, oxidation, tree limbs, sap and dirt and other debris. This can cause seals to not seal properly.
  • When the slideouts don’t seal properly, you can end up with moisture or water damage to the RV interior.
  • Slide toppers also serve as additional insulation and sun protection for your slideout

Tips from our technicians

If your RV has one or more slideouts, here are a few tips for keeping them in good condition.

  • Inspect and clean the slideout gaskets and seals to make sure they’re not covered with dirt/grime or are worn or brittle.
  • Make sure your RV is always level before extending or stowing slideouts.
  • If you don’t have slideout toppers, always carefully clean the slideouts off before stowing

RV camping tip

Install a hand-washing station on the flip-up door for one of your RV’s outside storage compartments.

  • Include a box that holds wet wipes.
  • Attach a large hand sanitizer bottle.
  • Place the bottle of hand sanitizer upside down when the door is flipped up. It will then be right side up when not being used and the door is closed.
  • Put on a roll of paper towels.
  • Use Velcro to attach these items to the door.
  • A good compartment to use is the one close to the connections and hoses. You may be able to use the shower hose for water.

This could be an especially handy tip when you’re dumping your tanks.

And now……a word from our customers

"Excellent work on body repair and leveling jack replacement. Great turn-around time."
